Diesel Tower Collapse
Built by Diesel Construction Company to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Diesel Tower was advertised as a modern, eco-friendly skyscraper and the company's greatest achievement. Behind the scenes, however, the project was filled with cost-cutting. Cheap materials replaced higher-quality ones, and several structural supports were removed while being promoted as "modern construction."
The grand opening was held in the evening and was attended by company executives, wealthy investors, and major Diesel Construction shareholders. The event was meant to celebrate the company's success and its biggest project yet.
Two hours into the celebration, the tower suffered a major structural failure and collapsed. Investigators later concluded that years of cost-cutting, poor construction, and unsafe design decisions led to the tower's downfall, making it one of the most infamous engineering failures in modern construction history.
